It has definitely been a whirl wind of a last few weeks!
I tried to make it a more simple Christmas than usual. Tried to get back to what the season is all about. Next year even more so. I will not be in class next year and will be able to spend more time creating for Christmas the way I would like and so enjoy doing. However, it was so hard to NOT go overboard on the little man! I wish I could buy him the world and sometimes think I try. It was a Thomas the Train Christmas at the RossCoffee households!
This is Boden's first published wish list to Santa.
(I can't seem to figure out how to rotate the image! Sorry!)
I have been spending my days off doing a preceptor ship at a corrections facility working as a LPN. I rather enjoy it if I say so myself. The days are short and fast paced. Last day of class is January 17. After that I will be able to sit for my boards. Then some much needed time off for me and the family! My goodness, I have been in school since late 2004! I am tired. Ready to get back to me.

Doc Martens
My dear friend Lisa sold me her Doc Martens that she scored at the local Good Will for $3.99! Love em! Just funky enough to make me happy right now.

The Creative Side of Me....
After much hoarding of vintage and various costume jewelry pieces both broken and miss matched, I have taken the time to create a piece I am quite fond of at this time.
It is versatile as it can be worn several different ways. You can wear it with the brooch at the bottom, or on the sides. As soon as I get enough pieces together I will be opening my Etsy shop and this will be for sale! Stay tuned!

I love ETSY!
Look what I just ordered on Etsy! I will be making something wonderful out of them when they arrive. I have been hoarding some costume jewelry finds for some time now and it's time to put them to the test. Stay tuned!

Halloween is Upon Us!
This is what my little man (Boden) is going to be for Halloween. It is a dinosaur costume that was made just for his mommy (Tayler) when she was a toddler. The bag it was stored in was dated 1993! It was made by my Aunt Gayla for Tayler to wear for Halloween. It is completely made of felt and has a long stuffed tail, a head piece, gloves with claws, and covers for shoes. When I took it out of the bag, Boden was so excited to get it on and would not take it off for the longest time! Can't wait for trick or treat. He is gonna be so stinkin cute!
I had my first official Lia Sophia home party last night! My dear friend Stephanie was gracious enough to open her home and host a party for me since I am just getting started and need all the help I can get. I think it went quite well, she had quite a few buyers and she hopes to get a few more. She should do well. I have another Lia Sophia party booked for Halloween which we are calling BOO and BLING! I am looking forward to decorating it up with a halloween theme and Jill (the hostess) will be making some spooky and fall oriented treats.
Following the Lia Sophia party we will be trailing back to my house for Trick or Treat. The menu will include the best ever chili (mine of course!) and brew. Delish!

What am I wearing today?
I want to start posting some of my great Good Will (referred to as GW Fashion in my home and circle) finds. I get such excitement out of a good score at the GW Fashion and I am reusing, recycling at the same time. If you know we at all, then you know I have always been a bit odd when it came to clothing anyway. I guess you could say I am a thrift addict. Hit up the local shops 2-3 times per week typically. Just don't tell Bruce! Today I am wearing, a great brown flowered skirt (GW find), my fave TOMS burlap shoes, and Lia Sophia accessories of course!
Some of my favorite finds at local thrift store are items I can restyle and sell in the future (hopefully next summer) at local flea markets and vintage shows. A great old sweater is another one of my fave finds this time of year! Check out your local thrift shops! You may be surprised at what you find.

Lia Sophia!
I have taken on a new adventure! I hosted a Lia Sophia party several weeks ago and became so infatuated with their jewelry that I decided to become an advisor. I mean who doesn't love jewelry and what better when it comes at a discount. I am impressed with the quality and variety available. So much in fact, I think I can convince others to feel the same. There is really no better way to update a old outfit than with a few affordable baubles! If you host a party the deal gets even sweeter! Lia Sophia offers great hostess benefits and the customers get a deal at each party as well! However, you don't have to wait for a party. You can order items directly from me anytime! Let me know if you are interested!

Worlds Largest Yard Sale 2010
My co-worker and fellow GW Fashions (aka. Good Will) shopper and I decided several months ago that we would take a road trip to the World's Largest Yard Sale . Being that we live in Ohio it really wasn't far for us to travel. So, we made reservations at a little dive hotel (more $$ for junk treasures!) and hit the road in my husbands Chevy pickup.
What a blast! Yard sale after yard sale. We soon discovered that private sales and church rummage sales were the best. Flea market type stops often involved dealers with higher prices but there was always a deal to be had. I took quite a few pictures of this years travels. I shall post them soon.
We are already making plans for next year. Heading further south with more money! I am thinking a trailer would be nice as well.
For all of you junk lovers alike that have not made this excursion, I recommend you do it at least once. Not only was the shopping fun, but the girl friend time was a blast as well. Have not laughed so much in a long time.

Weddings and Graduations
Wow! Every weekend lately has been graduation parties. Over the next few weekends we have a couple weddings to attend. The first is for a cousin getting married for the second time and the other, which will be held July 3 in Zanesville, is for our niece, Maggie. I am so happy for her and I believe she and her fiance will live a long happy life to gether. On a sdie note, Maggie just graduated with a degree in nursing as well. So proud of her! Way to go Maggie!
Boden is 2 now and he is a little ball of sunshine! He just makes me smile.
Now that classes are over for the summer, I am trying to find my inner crafter again. As of lately I have been working on a charm swap for 2peas. I have also volunteered to make some stroke counters (golf) for a fundraising golf outting a friend is in charge of. It feels great to be creative again!
I am totally addicted to ETSY shopping. If you haven't checked it out you really should.

Wii bowling ROCKS!
Wii bowling has reared it's ugly head in the Ross household. What is really cool about this game system is that can we play as a family. Last evening T and her boyfriend came over for a little bowling and my mother joined us as well. God love her. We created her a little ole lady Mii. We have only had our Wii since Christmas and we seem to love it. Makes you feel as if your being active although deep down inside I know this activity benefits me very little. I do however, need to get off my a#% and get moving. I am tired of the constant struggle with weight. I am putting my mind to it and it's coming off!
Need to start organizing myself for a little scrapbook retreat this upcoming weekend with the "girls". We will be much closer to home than usual which makes it nice. I am pretty much the only one who brings everything but the kitchen sink. The others are so organized. Organization is so over rated! I basically throw it all the car and go!

Bring on the SNOW
It is snowing here. Started about 2 hours ago. They say we should get up to 3-5 inches but they always seem to be a little off. Jake is already hoping school gets called off tomorrow. I personally don't see that happening but if he is lucky I will be wrong.
Classes started this week and I love, love my art history course! I already see from a new perspective.
My car blew up Monday. Looks like a will be in for a new engine for my little CRV. Poor little girl was a coughing and banging something terrible until the nice guy in the tow truck came along and gave her a ride home. Sad indeed.
