Wow, this week is going by quickly. They just seem to anymore. Took Tayler to NYC over the weekend for her b-day. We had a blast. Did the Chinatown thing of course and saw all of the sights. We took Morgan who has never been to NYC. She had a good time, I think. On Friday when we arrived at the location where the bus picked us up we were early so we had some Chipotle for dinner and went into Archivers. We headed back over to the pick up place to wait for the bus. While we sat there we were listening to the radio and had the cars doors open for like an hour! Guess what happens next? Oh yeah...DEAD BATTERY baby. So we knew that when we returned on Sunday morning we would have to call AAA to get a jump. Always an adventure when you travel with Julie! Guaranteed! I have been working 12 hours shifts the past several days so not much to blog about. The weekend is just ahead and I am looking forward to it! Oh yeah! I won my first RAK on 2peas yesterday. Pink Martini! I can't wait to get it. Will be checking the mail each day! Peace out folks!

I am going to spend all day Saturday in NYC and I am getting so hyped about it. I have only 12 hours to explore but want to cram in a weeks worth of sights and shopping. There is so much I want to do.

I hate to admit it but I am totally hooked on MTV's Laguna Beach. I have seen each and very season including The Hills. I am not sure why I like it so much, I mean I am an adult afterall and this is teen drama. It has become a time for Tayler and I to chill together. Bruce and Jake just hate the show and don't understand why we like it so much. Perhaps I don't either.

I tried to post a layout on TwoPeas and failed. I have lurked there for a long time and decided it was time to join in the posting of my work but I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I will continue to try.

One goal I have set for myself this year is to have my layouts published. I better get a move on since the year end is closing in on me. I have been submitting to various mags and a few contests. Nothing yet but I know it takes time. I sent off a layout of my daughter's 16th birthday (which was last year I might add) to Creating Keepsakes. If nothing else, at least it inspired me to get a layout done.

So glad the rain cleared out yesterday just in time for Jake's football game. It was a tie game I might add. He says a tie is as bad as a loss. A good game nonetheless. I just love watching him play football!

Tayler started her dream job last night. She will be teaching dance classes at her old dance studio. She has taken dance lessons at Douce since she was 3 years old and now she gets to teach! She is quite excited and I hope it leads to good things for her in the future with dancing and all. My dream for her is to open her own dance studio one day.

I may have another senior photo shoot to do soon. I love doing senior photos and I learn so much each time I do one. I would love to turn photography into a part time gig someday.

Going to the Big Apple this weekend. Hope to do a little shoppin and sightseeing. I am taking Tayler there for her b-day. She is taking a friend along as well. Next month I am headed to Michigan to take classes from Donna Downey at The Scrapbook Zone. I can't wait! I am so excited for about this event and I can't wait to take the classes (all 4 classes offered) taught by a scrappin goddess! I hear she is such a cool person.

The beginning

Well, let's get this blog started. Everyone is doing it....so should I? I want to learn to journal more so I am hoping this gets the creative journaling juices flowing. I follow some other bloggers so why not try it out for myself?

I was thinking about what I hope to accomplish by starting this blog and I have come up with the following:
1. Journaling
2. A location to post my work (layouts/photography)
3. A place for my family to go to try to figure me out
4. Brush up on writing skills
5. To have a place to say what is on my mind right now
